GORPED / CUSTOMER CARE

Useful storage, optional analytics and a choice you can change.

Updated 10 September 2026

How your choice works

We use cookies and local storage for different purposes. Essential functions support shopping, checkout, security and the preferences you request. Optional analytics connect visits and purchases only after you choose “Analytics only” or “Allow all”.

We ask for optional analytics permission worldwide, including the EEA, UK and Switzerland. If your location cannot be determined, optional analytics still remain off until you agree. Changing the delivery country does not count as cookie consent.

On a first visit, our banner appears after about 3 seconds. The delay does not permit optional tracking in the meantime. Browsing, scrolling or closing the page is not consent. You can choose “Essential only”, “Analytics only” or “Allow all”; rejecting optional purposes is as accessible as accepting them. Our checkout receives your analytics choice; you can manage Shopify’s privacy settings there too.

Essential & requested functions

  • gorped-consent-v1: remembers your analytics choice for 6 months.
  • gorped-statistics: remembers your separate anonymous-statistics preference for 6 months when you change it.
  • gorped-design-cart: local storage for the cart you build. It remains until replaced or cleared.
  • gorped-country and gorped-theme: local storage for the country or appearance you choose. These remain until changed or cleared.
  • Shopify checkout, consent and security storage: supports payment, cart continuity, privacy choices and fraud prevention. Names and durations can vary with the checkout feature; see Shopify’s cookie list.

These functions do not depend on optional analytics permission. Blocking all browser storage can prevent the cart or checkout from working correctly.

Optional analytics storage

  • _shopify_y: a Shopify analytics visitor identifier, generally retained for up to 1 year.
  • _shopify_s: a Shopify analytics session identifier, generally retained for 30 minutes.
  • gorped-attribution-v1: our local-storage record for consented visit and campaign attribution, with a 30-day lifetime. It includes a random browser identifier, first and recent source and landing page. The related analytics service can calculate an observed visit sequence.

We use these to measure visits, cart activity and purchases, including the visit during which a purchase occurs within the measurement window. They are not needed to place an order. Our Privacy policy explains the related server records and retention.

Anonymous statistics

A separate first-party counter measures visit and page-view totals without a tracking cookie or persistent visitor ID. It does not match a visit to a customer or order. Totals can be grouped by page, broad source, country and device category.

You can object to this measurement in Cookie settings by switching off “Allow anonymous visit statistics”. This control is separate from analytics-cookie permission. Declining optional analytics does not by itself turn off these aggregate counters. A short-lived network key used to prevent abuse is not used for identifying returning visitors.

Change or withdraw permission

Open “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time. Choose “Essential only” to stop future optional analytics and advertising. “Analytics only” permits measurement without advertising; “Allow all” also permits the advertising described below. You can also change anonymous-statistics measurement there.

The choice applies to this browser and the GORPED checkout on the same root domain. Use the controls again on another browser or device. If you clear storage or the preference expires, we ask again. We clear our browser attribution record when you reject analytics; the decision does not automatically delete previously collected server records.

Browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control do not authorise tracking. “Analytics only” sends marketing and advertising data-sharing permission as off; “Allow all” also permits the advertising described below. Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for the commerce platform; see Shopify & enhanced services for its separate processing and additional opt-out controls.

Advertising & your choice

Updated 10 September 2026. Saftladen GmbH uses the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) on gorped.com only after you choose “Allow all”. “Analytics only” does not authorise advertising. “Essential only” declines optional analytics and advertising. A previous analytics-only choice is not treated as permission for Meta.

With advertising permission, Meta receives public page and product views, cart actions, product identifiers, prices and currencies, event identifiers, browser and connection information such as IP address, and advertising click/cookie identifiers. These are used to measure advertising, attribute conversions and personalise ads. The storefront does not send review text, order-lookup entries or form contents to Meta.

Our Shopify Facebook & Instagram integration also uses the Meta Pixel, advanced matching and Conversions API for checkout and purchase measurement. With permission, Shopify can share order and customer matching information, including name, email, phone and location, with Meta. This can link an event to a Meta account. Hashing matching information does not make it anonymous. The data may be processed outside Switzerland and the EEA, including in the United States, under the applicable provider transfer arrangements.

The GDPR basis for this optional tracking is consent. Advertising sharing can qualify as “sale”, “sharing” or targeted advertising under applicable US privacy laws. Global Privacy Control disables advertising on our storefront, even if an earlier choice permitted it. Open Cookie settings in the footer and select “Analytics only” or “Essential only” to withdraw advertising permission. We stop new storefront advertising events and pass the choice to Shopify checkout. You can also use the Shopify privacy form for account-related opt-outs. Withdrawal does not erase previously collected records.

The essential gorped-consent-v2 cookie remembers the separate choices for six months. Meta may set _fbp and _fbc browser identifiers, generally for up to 90 days; browser restrictions may shorten this. Meta controls retention of received information according to its policies. See Meta’s Privacy Policy, Meta’s Cookie Policy and Shopify’s Privacy Policy. For a privacy request, contact office@gorped.com.
